The Covered Lawn

A pillared outdoor area covered with draped fabric and strung with lights, used for large celebrations that want the open air with a roof's worth of shelter.

The covered outdoor venue at night, lit with string lights above a seated function

About the room

The lawn is the property's outdoor venue: a paved and carpeted area held up on pillars, covered in draped fabric and strung with festoon lights. Buffet counters run along one side and tables are laid under the lights.

Photographs show it in daylight with the colonnade and garden alongside, and again at night during a seated function with the lights on and a live counter in service. It is the room that suits a number too large to seat comfortably indoors, and it reads best after dark.

Because the space is outdoors with a fabric roof, the weather genuinely matters — and so does the season. Tell us your date and the team will tell you frankly what they would advise.

What this page does not claim

  • An outdoor covered space is weather-dependent. Seasonal advice comes from the hotel team, not from this page.
  • Seating plans come from the hotel's own chart covering the property. How many guests the lawn takes on your date is confirmed by the team.
  • Structures, décor and counters shown in the photographs were dressed for particular functions.
